Sandcasting Silver

The pendants you see in our shop are made using a metal casting technique called ‘sandcasting’. This works by creating shapes in ‘Delft’ sand (not the type you’d find at the beach!), and pouring molten silver into the mould to create individual castings.

I hand-carve my designs into clay, then use these carvings to create the shapes that end up as solid silver pendants. In my UK-based studio, I make all of these pendants one-by-one - handmade and created with love!

You can find full videos of the casting process on the Slow Blink Instagram and TikTok:

Each clothing piece in our shop is hand-printed using hand-carved linoleum blocks.

I design each original art piece, and draw it onto a linoleum block, and use special knives to carve out the areas which I want to appear as negative space once printed.

I then use block fabric inks and lino rollers and apply the design to 100% Cotton garments by pressing each carving onto the fabric - creating original and unique prints!

I leave each print to dry for around 5 days, and then heat set. The ink used is durable and can be washed along with your other clothes of a similar colour.
